Surgeries and dentals are scheduled Mon-Friday every week, with exception of holidays or early closings. Your pet must be up to date on vaccinations if they are staying for any length of time in the clinic. If you do not bring records showing that your pet is up to date on vaccinations, the doctors will update required vaccinations while your pet is here.
Each day one of our doctors is scheduled to perform surgeries and treatments throughout the morning and into the afternoon. All pets with procedures involving anesthesia or sedation should be dropped off at the clinic between 8:00 - 9:00 am. Ultrasound patients, or pets who require day-long testing, should also be dropped off between these hours. Each doctor schedules and arranges their procedures for the day, and all procedures are done typically between 10:00 am - 3:00 pm.
Do not feed your pet after midnight the day before they are to receive surgery, ultrasound, or any procedure requiring anesthesia. This means no breakfast or treats the morning of surgery. A small drink of water is ok, however, don't let your pet drink more than a small amount. If your pet is on medication, please ask the doctor if medicine should be given prior to your pet's arrival. If you are dropping your pet off for testing, please ask the doctor whether fasting is required prior to the test.
Please be sure to leave a number where you can be reached at all times by our doctors or staff. If you have questions for the doctor regarding your pet's procedure, please tell the receptionist checking you in that you would like the doctor to call you before your pet's procedure. If you need to speak in person with a doctor, please keep in mind that they do not arrive at the clinic until 9:00 am. After your pet's procedure, a doctor will call you to discuss how the procedure went, and how your pet is doing in recovery.
Most procedures requiring sedation or anesthesia stay with us until between 5:00 - 7:00 pm. This allows us to monitor them for several hours before they go home. When you pick up, a technician will go over any post-operative instructions during discharge.
