Denise Sturgill

Denise Sturgill graduated from Blue Ridge Community College in 1992 as a veterinary technician. She has been working with Bon Air Animal Hospital for over 20 years. She enjoys assisting in surgery and getting to interact with all the pets who come to the clinic. She is married to Tim Sturgill, and has two children, Katarina and Wyatt. Denise has two toy poodles, Jetta and Rivers, a Labradoodle named Trip, two cats, Elvis and Spooky, and an African Grey parrot named Peanut. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family.
Laurie Skinner
Laurie Skinner has been in the veterinary field since 1997. She graduated from San Juan College with a degree in veterinary technology. She has worked in various positions in the field including kennel attendant, receptionist, veterinary technician assistant, surgical technician, to supervisor and manager, just to name a few. Laurie has a special interest in animal dentistry, surgery, and rehabilitation. She also has a 30+ year background in dog behavior and training. She has trained dogs in obedience, dock diving, and currently competes in agility with her dogs as well as teaching. Laurie is married to Vernon and has two daughters, Chrystal and Courtney, and two grandchildren, Bradley and Gracie. Their home is filled with five dogs, a Yorkshire Terrier, Kylie, 2 Border Collies, Cheat and Steal, Missy a 20 year old Bassett Hound, and Tyce a long coat Chihuahua along with a Koi pond and numerous other animals that venture onto the farm.
Emily Camidge
Emily is originally from a very small town in upstate New York. She graduated from the SUNY Delhi's Veterinary Technology program in 2009. She worked as a licensed veterinary technician for 7 years in a large mixed-animal practice in New York where she developed her passion for emergency medicine. In 2017 she found herself as an LVT in Roanoke Virginia for a year before finding her way to Bon Air Animal Hospital in June of 2018. As mentioned she takes a special interest in emergency medicine and likes to be involved in the thick of it all. She is very proud to call herself a Licensed Veterinary Technician. When not at work she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She has a boxer mix, Spencer, and a spitfire of a cat named Gertrude.
Technicians in Training

Kasey Loehr, Danielle Marshall, and Mary Cornell started as assistants at Bon Air Animal Hospital. They have since decided to pursue education as veterinarian technicians and are participating in distance education program, which allows them to gain hands-on experience while taking their courses.
